Downtown Covington Engagement Session || Lauren & Michael
Lauren & Michael are going to tie the knot on January of 2018.
I met Lauren at her cousin's wedding that I photographed last October 2016, she was one of the bridesmaids. Few months later, she contacted me & asked me to be her photographer as well for her wedding. She got engaged a week after her cousin's wedding. I was so excited and happy for them. I got even more excited that they chose me to capture their very special day.
During their engagement session, we had so much fun and enjoyed chatting. I was being nosey & asked a lot of questions about their love story. :-) Hey, there's nothing wrong about getting to know more your clients, right?
While photographing them I couldn't help but noticed on how they are so in-love & very sweet to each other. I didn't even have to direct them as much on posing because they were just so natural. I tried to capture as candid as possible. You will see their images below, it speaks for itself.

Lauren & Michael met at Lauren's ex-boyfriend who was also Michael's best-friend at that time. You got it? :-)
One morning, Lauren went to her ex-boyfriend's house & it happened Michael was there hanging out with his best-friend. The ex-bf was busy playing games that he didn't get a chance to introduce them. So, Lauren & Michael introduced themselves & started chatting for hours. Since then they became instant good friends, always texting and calling each other.
Six months later, Lauren & her ex broke up. Even-though Michael was the best friend of her ex, he was always there for Lauren because that whole 6 months they became best friends. They continued hanging out each other as friends until one night, Michael kissed her and told her that he couldn't just be her friend anymore. And that's how it all started...
They have been together for just over 4 years and a half now. They will tie the knot 2 days later after they make 5 years being together. Isn't that sweet?
I asked them both with the same questions . I could just tell how much these two are so in-love with each other based on their answers.
Was it love at first sight?
Lauren : Honestly NO. I didn't fall head-over-heels for him the second we met. I liked him a lot and after we became friends, I love him as my best friend. I was fiercely protective of him & I think he felt the same as me. Then one day, we were at the Olde Town Soda Shop in Slidell, it just dawned on me that I cannot be without him in my life. It felt a lot like waking up & realizing that Michael was my FOREVER.
Michael : Yes and No. The first time I met her, I liked her like crazy but she was with my friend at that time so nothing could have been done about it. We did become best friends instantly, and overtime we grew closer & closer. Later on down the line, I remember us hanging out one night, watching a horror movie and all I could think about is that I want to make her my girl.
The Proposal Story
Michael's planned was to proposed Lauren on New Year's day but he couldn't wait any longer that he proposed to her on October 20th, 2016. He got his brother & Lauren's sister involved on the proposal preparation. His brother was helping him prepped the house that him & Lauren were going to live in. Her sister made a big poster for the big question, little loving decorations on the wall, rose petals on the floor and their favorite love song was playing.
He popped the question & Lauren said "YES".
What do you love about the other person the most?
Lauren : I love his passion. If Michael believes in something, he is so passionate about it. He loves Mixed Martial Arts & it shows. His passion shows in his beliefs against bullying & how his biggest goal in life is to just help people.
Michael : There's two things I love most about Lauren. One is how spontaneous she is. It's never boring, because she always thinks of something for us to do. Random little adventures all the time, and its always a good time. The other one is her smile. She has such a pretty smiles, it makes my heart start pumping.
